Photovoltaics are becoming ever more important to the worldwide energy supply. In this field, the focus is on producing more efficient, cost-effective photovoltaic modules.

For this, we produce products like silkscreen stencils, vapor deposition masks, and optically functionalized surfaces (reflective film). These are used in conventional crystalline modules, thin-film modules and in new PV technologies.

SILKSCREEN STENCILS AND SHADOW MASKS

Templates for silkscreen applications and PVD/CVD processes

For increasing cell efficiency in photovoltaics, thinner finger electrodes and new cell topologies (such as Topcon technology or PERC cells) play an important role.

We produce customer-specific silkscreen stencils and shadow masks for PVD and CVD processes (sputter technology, vapor deposition technology).

Structure sizes as small as 3 µm provide more active surface on the solar cell. At the same time, less contact material is needed. The galvanically produced silkscreen stencils are distinctive for their almost vertical, burr-free edges with less roughness. The nickel shadow masks can also be magnetically fastened to the substrate. This ensures total surface contact.

FUNCTIONAL SURFACES

Microstructured films for raising the level of module effectiveness in photovoltaics

To optimally use the spaces between cells and the edge areas within the PV module, special microstructured films are used. These films reflect the descending sunlight at an angle that causes total reflection on the interior of the module glass. This allows the greatest possible portion of the descending sunlight to be directed to the PV cells.

We produce such optically functional surfaces cost-effectively through UV roll imprint.

NEW PV TECHNOLOGIES

Microstructured surfaces, such as for BIPV, organic PV and thin-film photovoltaics

temicon micro- and nanostructures play an important role in development of PV technologies.

Our structures open new possibilities for increased efficiency and for cost-effective production of PV modules, as well as for use of photovoltaics in architecture. Our roll-to-roll UV nano-imprint can be used for thin-film modules, for new perovskite technologies and for facade design with colored photovoltaics modules, and more.
