Nickel shims are for replicating micro- and nanostructures.
Shims are used as stamps or molds with a very wide variety of micro- and nanostructures.
As a series producer, temicon uses nickel shims to replicate micro- and nanostructures for the following technologies:
The shims are made in the lithography electroforming process chain. Depending on the structure type, structuring is done with the photo-lithographic process UV lithography, laser interference lithography or using alternative structuring processes.
Generally, starting from a nickel form called the nickel father, further nickel copies are possible.
This is called the nickel-nickel family process. The first nickel copy is called the mother. It shows the inverse microstructure. The subsequent copy is called the son. This one has the same structural orientation as the original father.
